ROBIN FOSTER
Hi! I’m Robin Foster.
Welcome to my webpage.
Robin J. Foster (she/her/hers) is a writer, video editor, photographer, and croissant enthusiast originally from Lake Tahoe, CA. She was doomed to become some sort of artist, as she is the daughter of a poet and a carpenter/woodworker, and the sister of a professional musician. She received her BA in Media Arts from California State University, Chico, and her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of San Francisco, where she served as the co-fiction editor for the literary magazine, Invisible City.
For the marketing folks: She has 8+ years’ experience of high-level brand strategy, copy editing and writing, social media management, and digital content management. She integrates her technical training in film production and media arts with professional writing and social media oversight. She’s created content (blogs, videos, socials, etc.) for independent radio stations, assisted living professionals, indie arts collectives, and more.
For the writerly folks: Her personal writing centers around magic, queerness, absurdism, and trauma. She recently launched a Substack called BATHOS, a dark humor notepad on mental health and worldly observations. She received a Creative in Residence fellowship from The Ruby for the ’24-’25 cycle; she is still a member.
When she’s not working or writing, she can be found watching films, discovering new music, going on long meandering walks, befriending dogs, dipping her toe into the SF improv scene, and sampling croissants. She lives in San Francisco, the city that captured her heart.
